| Overfoto opened on December 2006 with the aim of creating a vital and dynamic space for contemporary art and especially for photography and video art. The gallery is located in the historical center of the city, in Piazza Bellini, at ground floor inside a big and quite courtyard where there are several cultural and entertainment activities going on night and day. Donatella Saccani, the artistic director, is a photographer who has been also the organizer of many exhibitions and festivals in town, which allowed her to build a wide net of contacts in the world of culture and especially contemporary art. The gallery's schedule will include five personal exhibits every year in the gallery's premises accompanied by a catalogue and a number of collective exhibitions in public spaces in town. Moreover, almost three years after its birth, the Gallery has doubled its exhibition spaces, opening its first detached branch in the virtual space of Second Life. The seat of the gallery consists of a SIM (island of 65,000 square metres) constructed in four 3D minimalist-style industrial pavilions, where will be inaugurated, with a bimonthly cadency, collective and personal exhibitions of artists who focus their research on the new media subject. Artistic search and creative experimentation, which always have guidelined the Neapolitan Gallery, find further opportunities in this new expressive stable space, whose absolute specificity and strength consists in crossing the boundaries of physical space, and open to the potentially unlimited - from a geographical and temporal point of view- usability, permitted by the network. The gallery is open tuesday through saturday from 11.00 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00 The gallery' space is a room of 40 sq/m whose height is 2,30 m, on one part, and 4,30 on the other. The space is ground-floor and it opens on a big, quite courtyard where there are several cultural and recreational activities.
